*** JAMBreakoutSessions *** JAMBreakoutSessions are made up of JAMCoaches and JOBSeekers who come together to learn how to be more effective in their job search. One of our primary goals is to help you put your best self forward in the job transition process. We do this by providing you the latest information in how to do just that in the disciplines required to make a successful career transition. JAMBreakoutSessions are made up of four disciplines. Resume writing, networking, interviewing and goals/life plans. You have an opportunity to attend one each time you attend a JAMSession.
A résumé is your personal advertisement. It is the primary way that a JOBSeeker has to get an interview. Our resume team is made up of professionals who know exactly what you need to communicate in order to get a job interview. This session gives you the “dos and don’ts” of résumé writing and then reviews résumés’ to show how a few adjustments can make a big difference in communicating your best qualifications.
A good interview is the second step to getting a new position. This is where theJOBSeeker and the hiring manager find out if they are compatible and want to move forward in the process. This session is designed to encourage you and provide you with tips on how to put your best self forward. You will have an opportunity to discuss questions that you will most likely encounter during the interview. You will also learn the type of questions that you need to ask. This session is lead by professionals who have extensive experience in interviewing and hiring employees for Fortune 100 to local small businesses.
Networking is the most successful means of finding job opportunities. This session will teach you that you already have a network and how to use it appropriately. You will be given directions and tools to start the process if you haven’t already. This session helps you see the importance in not only being involved with others, but also the importance of passing on information that can benefit others.
The best way to not get anywhere is to not aim at anything. A life plan is “what you want to do when you grown up”. Goals are how you get there. This session provides you with the tools needed to answer questions like: ‘What is important to you?’ What am I good at?’ and ‘How am I going to invest my life?’ Have you ever sat down and asked God what he made you for? This is your chance to do some important evaluation. |
